Vattakkali

Also known as chuvadukali, Vattakkali is a ring dance usually performed by the members of the Vattuvar community. Both men and women partake in this dance. In Vattakkali, the participants enact 12 different steps. The dance is accompanied by the tinkling of anklets and bells, and the rhythmic clapping of hand. The rotating movements become faster as the dancing reaches a climax.
