Valmikeswara Temple

Valmikeswara Temple is located at Tiruvarur in Tamil Nadu, about 15 miles west ofNagapattinam. The principal deity is Lord Shiva in the form of Valmikeswara. There is a separate shrine for Goddess Kamalambal. The artistic work of the mandapam includes the image of Ashtadikpalas and 27 Nakshatra devatas or stars. The temple houses a sacred well, Sankha teertha. The main festival occurs at Panguni Uttiram or the full moon day in the month of Panguni (March -April).
