Vallimalai Sachidananda Swami

Vallimalai Sachidananda Swami was a great devotee of Lord Muruga and his consort, Shri Valli, after whom Vallimalai is named. Vallimalai is one of the six most important places in India for the worship of Muruga. The Swami chose the Tiruppukal songs by Saint Arunagirinatha for his devotions, linking them to the yogic path of the six adhara chakras.

Sachidananda Swami sought Seshadri Swamigal of Tiruvanamalai as instructed by Sri Ramana Maharshi. His guru instructed him to stay at Vallimalai where he spent the next thirty eight years. Many were his divine experiences with his chosen deities.

On 22nd November 1950, he attained samadhi through the Ajna chakra, at which blood spurted out from the point between his eyebrows.
