Valabha

Valabha was a famous king of the Mooshaka Dynasty, also known as Kolathiri Kingdom. He ruled the northern parts of Kerala, particularly Ezhimala, and the Lakshadweep Islands during the medieval period.

King Valabha is believed to have been a great patron of learning. He built the port of Valapattanam. Besides, Valabha annexed several islands of the Arabian Sea.

Valabha finds mention in the Sanskrit work 'Mooshakavamsham', written by Atula - the court poet of King Sreekantha. Valabha was succeeded by his younger brother Sreekantha.
