Vada Pav

Vada Pav is Mumbai's hamburger. It is an indispensable part of street food culture in Mumbai. It consists of a garlic mix of mashed potatoes dipped in a chick pea batter and then deep fried and sandwiched in a traditional bread bun. This fried potato patty is usually served with a spoonful of a couple of different chutneys such as garlic red pepper dry chutney, tangy tamarind chutney or a hot cilantro and green chilli chutney. Freshly prepared Vada Pav and steaming hot masala chai from a street-side stall are ideal to top off a wonderful evening.
