Established in 1962, University of North Bengal is a State University located in
Darjeeling District and is 9 km from
Siliguri and
Civil Enclave Bagdogra.
The university has about 74 affiliated colleges distributed over six districts of North Bengal, namely, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, Coochbehar, North Dinajpur, South Dinajpur and Malda; and the neighboring state of Sikkim.
It functions as a multidisciplinary university, offering various courses in the fields of humanities, arts, sciences, social sciences, commerce and law.
