Umamaheswaram in
Mahabubnagar District is 150 km from
Hyderabad. It is famed for Umamaheswaram Temple, which dates back to 2nd century. The presiding deities are Mallikarjuna (
Shiva) and Bhramaramba (
Parvati). The temple is stuck in deep
Nallamalai forests, in the midst of scenic mountains. It is familiar as north entrance to
Srisailam.
