Ukdungle




Ukdungle is a small settlement lying on the borders of India and China in Leh District. It is set at an elevation of 15,285 ft above sea level and is about 52 km away from Qusum.

Ukdungle is flanked by Zong to its west and Demchok to its east. The northern and southern parts are covered by Punguk and Kauirik respectively. The region offers many short treks and hikes to upland villages in the Himalayan ranges. Short excursions can be taken to Hanle Observatory, Hanle Palace and Hanle Monastery from here.

One can reach Ukdungle by a trek from Chepzi. It is also accessible from Lekong Yok and Khuldo.
