Turnip




Turnip is a vegetable crop adaptable to cool and moderate climates. There are two varieties including temperate varieties and Asiatic varieties produced in India. It is very tasty and sugary.

The mild roots are eaten as a vegetable. The leaves are nutritious and are used to enhance flavor. Turnip requires deep and well-drained soils. It is cross-pollinated by insects.
