Trilokinath Temple

Trilokinath Temple is an ancient hilltop shrine situated 4 km from Udaipur Village, on the left bank of Chenab River, in Lahaul and Spiti District, Himachal Pradesh. The temple enshrines a 12th century six–armed white marble image of Lord Shiva. Udaipur village is 50 km north-west of Keylong.

This unique temple is a beautiful blend of Buddhist monasteries and Hindu temples and is sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists. The temple is noted for its exquisite carvings adoring its inner walls and doors. Tibetan prayer flags, built in pagoda style, adorn the entrance of the temple.

The tower of the temple is constructed from stone. The temple courtyard houses a miniature stone Nandi and a granite shivling. There are two beautifully carved stone pillars on each side of the door, known as the pillars of dharma and paap (virtue and sin). The temple also has prayer wheels typical to Buddhist Gompas.

Pauri Festival, celebrated in the month of August, amid much pomp and splendor attracts large number of people from far and near.
