Tokpo Gongma is located 12 km from Chandra Tal Lake in Lahaul and Spiti District, Himachal Pradesh. It lies at an elevation of about 4,350 m, on the Manali – Chandra Tal Lake trek route. (‘Tokpo’ means 'river' and ‘Gongma’ means 'big' in the Tibetan language.) It provides enchanting views of snow-clad mountain peaks and glaciers.
Tokpo Yongma, Keylong, Baralacha La and Gramphu are nearby tourist destinations. It is an ideal base for trekking and mountaineering. Base camps are available.
