Tingthou is a perennial herb belonging to the grass family Poaceae. Extracted juice of the grass is prescribed as a remedy in the treatment of injuries, anasarca, hysteria, epilepsy, insanity, chronic diarrhea and dysentery.
The juice about 50 cc along with sugar is also given to women who are suffering from excessive uterine bleeding. A decoction of the roots is helpful in dropsy and secondary syphilis.
