Tihar Festival




Tihar is a festival celebrated at Bhaderwah and Kishtwar in Doda District. This festival is held during the Hindu month of Chaitra (March-April) and is dedicated to the serpent gods.

Water springs and tanks are cleaned on this occasion. Nagas (serpent gods) are worshipped and offerings of rice and flowers are made to them.
