Thirparappu




Thirparappu (also spelt Thriparappu and Thiruparappu) is a small town in Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu. It spans over an area of about 26 sq km. This town is famous as a tourist spot as it is home to the Thriparappu Waterfalls. There is a Lord Shiva Temple (Mahadever kovil) and a Cave Temple. Thirunandikara Temple is about 8 km south-east of Thirparappu. Nearby tourist spots include Padmanabhapuram Palace, Neyyar Dam, Pechiparai Dam, Adhikesava Perumal Temple at Thiruvattar, Thengapattinam and Kuzhithurai Amman Temple. The nearest airport is Trivandrum International Airport. Kuzhithurai Railway Station serves the town. Nagercoil Junction Railway Station is the nearest major railhead. Thirparappu can be accessed from Nagercoil, Kuzhithurai and Thiruvananthapuram by road.
