Temple of Seven Mother Goddess

Built in the tenth century by the Somavamsi Kings, the temple of Seven Mother Goddess enshrines Brahmi, Maheswari, Andri, Kaumari, Vaishnavi, Varahi and Chamunda with Goddess Vimala as the presiding deity of this Shaktipitha. The shrine of the seven mother goddess at the sacred pond of Markanda reveals that once upon a time Puri was an authentic Shaktipitha and Goddess Vimala was the presiding deity of this pitha.

Puri is connected by air, road and rail. The nearest airport is at Bhubaneswar which is about 65 km.
