Temple Tree




Temple Tree is a deciduous and profusely branched tree that grows widely in tropics of India. It is a native Mexico.

It is mainly cultivated for its fragrant flowers. There are two species recognized from this family (Apocynaceae), Plumeria alba and Plumeria rubra. Plumeria alba has yellow flowers, while Plumeria rubra produces pink flower with yellow center. The tree is characterized by simple, large and alternate leaves. Temple tree also has much medicinal importance.
