Tara

Positioned at a height of 1,459 ft, Tara is a town in Jammu District of Jammu and Kashmir. Thandapani is towards the west, Saili to the north, Jindrah to the east and Aitham to the south of this town.

Durga temple and Mansar Lake are among the tourist spots within a short distance from Tara.

Buses are available from Udhampur, Suruin and Bailkhad towards Tara. Jammu Tawi Railway Station on the Jammu - Pathankot line, managed by the Northern Railways, serves this place. The nearest airport is Jammu Airport, 8 km from Jammu.
