Tamil Yeoman (Cirrochroa thais), a bright reddish yellow butterfly, is found in evergreen forests and on the plateau in India.
The color of the abdomen varies from pale olive brown (in male) to orange-brown (in female). The wingspan is about 62 to 75 mm. A black apical and termin margin and a prominent medial transverse black line are seen on the forewing. The hind wing carries a medial transverse black lunar line, a discal row of 6 small black spots, and large quadrate white spots on the anterior margin. Tamil Yeoman visits moist or damp patches and flowers, and males occasionally water.
