Tamarisk




Tamarisk (Latin name, Tamarix gallica) is a bushy shrub seen in sandy or gravelly areas, low-lying saline soils, and on the banks of rivers. Jhavuka and Jhav are its other popular Indian names.

It possesses mild and sweet taste, so it can be used to move the bowels in children as well as in bleeding disorders such as menorrhagia, bleeding per rectum and epistaxis.
