Tailed Jay Butterfly




Tailed Jay (Graphium agamemnon menides), a common butterfly of 8 to 10 cm, lives in heavy rainfall regions of India. The upper side of the insect is brownish black with variable number of bright green spots and stripes. The underpart is pale brown with black and red spots in the hind wing. Tailed Jay can be also seen in wooded areas and gardens. Its principal host plant is Mast tree.
