Swamithope is a small village located about 15 km from
Nagercoil, the district headquarters of
Kanyakumari District in
Tamil Nadu. This village has a famous temple of Ayya Vaikuntar (Thalamai Pathi). During the birthday of Ayya, which falls in the Tamil month of Maasi (March-April), thousands of devotees throng to this village. There is no accommodation available in the village and for travelers, it is advisable to stay at Nagarcoil. Buses are available (route numbers 34, 2, 1-D) from Nagercoil to Swamithope.
Nagarcoil Junction Railway Station and
Trivandrum International Airport are the nearest railway station and airport respectively.
