Streaked Weaver is a sparrow like bird known for its elaborately interwoven nests and is locally known as babui or baoi. Nests are made from leaf fibres woven together like a basket. The hanging nests have complex entrance tunnels. The bird's breast is fulvous and boldly streaked with black in both sexes. The crown of head in breeding males are yellow. Flocks are seen in swampy tall reed-beds.
