St Francis Xavier's Church

St Francis Xavier's Church is located at Purathakudi in Tiruchirapalli District. The church was built in 1680 by the priests of the Society of Jesus, Madurai. Later it was extended by Mrs Marhini, wife of a French captain, and dedicated it to St Francis Xavier. The Parish came under the control of Kumbakonam Diocese in the year 1899. The church was renovated in 1988.

The feast celebration is held on the 2nd and 3rd of December.

St Francis Xavier's Church can be approached by road from Tiruchirapalli (20 km). The nearest railhead is Tiruchirapalli Junction Railway Station.
