Sri Surya Pahar




Sri Surya Pahar is a hillock located about 12 km from Goalpara in Assam. It is dotted with numerous artifacts and sculptures belonging to Gupta period and of later periods. The archeological remains shows traces of Hindu, Buddha and Jain cultures, which had an impact over the region from time to time.

This hill enshrines different idols of gods and goddess, which include that of Devi Durga, Lord Ganesh, Buddha and Durga. A grand mela is held here annually on the full moon day of Magh Bihu. An archeological museum functions at the foothill.
