Established in 1958 by Karnataka Ayurveda Sangha, Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College is a world class ayurvedic medical college located at Kuthpady in
Udupi District. Affiliated to
Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, it offers a five and a half years degree course in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS). The college is recognized by the Central Council of Indian Medicine.
A pharmacy and a hospital are attached. The hospital is famous for the treatment of Panchakarma and Chronic Skin Diseases. It has well equipped departments of panchakarma, shalya, shalakya, sthree roga, kaumara vratha, rasa shasthra and dravya guna. The clinical laboratory is fully equipped to conduct several clinical investigations.
The college library has nearly 5,500 valuable books on Ayurveda and allied subjects. The herb garden within the college comprises over 400 medicinal plants.
