Squirrel Monkey traverses through trees by leaping, and is found in groups containing female and infant, adult male and juvenile. Tails are only partly prehensile. The offspring are dependent on their mothers for the first 6 months. The female leaves group in search of another, when it is sexually matured. Males are a little larger than females. It feeds on bird’s eggs, insects, fruit and nuts. The maximum lifespan is about 15 years.
