Souimji Mountain




Souimji Mountain is an inactive volcano in Kupwara District of Jammu and Kashmir. It is situated near Wadipora in Handwara.

This 6100 ft high volcano used to emit fire till 1876 AD. It exploded continuously for a month in the year 1826. At present; the volcano is inactive and Hindus consider it as sacred.
