Somwar Peth




Somwar Peth, established during 1637-1662, is one of the famous peths in Pune, Maharashtra. Earlier it was known as Shahpura. The resident of this area were know as Gosavi. The well-known Shahu Udyan and Shahu Talav are legend of this peth.

Some of the famous places over here are Apollo Theater, Mali Maharaj Temple, Vishnu Temple and Nageshwar Temple. The employment office, Zilla Parishad building and the collectorate are found here.
