Someshwar Tank

Someshwar Tank is situated at Panhala in Kolhapur District. This tank came into existence as a result of the quarrying of stones that were required for the building of the fort wall at Panhala. On top of it lies a famous camouflaged well with a three-storied structure, called Andhar Bav. It was used to prevent any possible water poisoning by the enemy. Both the tank and the well are quite impressive.

The nearest railway station is at Kolhapur, 18 km away. Buses are available from Kolhapur to Panhala.
