Smooth-coated Otter (Lutra perspicillata) is medium to large in size. Cheeks are light gray in color, almost white in some specimens, sharply demarked from color of upperparts.
Head and body length ranges between 655 and 790 mm. Tail is around 406 and 505 mm. Feet are large, thick, and well webbed. Tail is tapered with slight flattening at sides. The upperparts are smoky, gray brown, while the underside a lighter drab color.
