Skanda Upanishad is one of the 108
Upanishads, from Hindu philosophy and belongs to the
Krishna-Yajurveda.
The verses are spoken by Skanda, the first born of Lord Shiva, addressed to the Supreme God. Bowing to the supreme reality, Skanda says that the one who discerns the consciousness as distinct from the inert is the unswerving mass of knowledge. He becomes Shiva, Vishnu, luminary of luminaries, the supreme god, the Brahman and understands himself to be Brahman. Released from karma, one can attain a sense of oneness with God. The body is the temple, the deity Shiva is Jiva and to attain moksha, one should perceive the Brahman that resides within.
