Simar is a green-field port, 27 km south-west of the minor port of
Jafrabad and 90 km east of
Veraval. A 20 km contour is available, about 1 km from the shore, to accommodate ocean-going vessels. This port handles Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), coal and other fuel requirements for power.
