Shringverpur

Shringverpur is a historical place located on the banks of the Ganga, about 40 km away from Allahabad. It is famous as the kingdom of Nishadraj, who was considered as the king of boatmen. Historians have excavated an ancient temple of Shringi Rishi from here. Another attraction is a platform called Ramchaura. According to Hindu mythology, it is the place where Lord Ram stayed overnight on his way to the forest. It is also believed that Nishadraj washed the feet of Lord Ram and helped him across the Ganga.
