Shri Sooktam is a hymn to Goddess
Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity. It is one of the five hymns or sooktas in the vedic traditions. Lakshmi is the consort of
Lord Vishnu, who is the Supreme God. Shri Sooktam elaborates that Goddess Lakshmi is the Supreme Goddess in the Universe. It also glorifies Goddess Lakshmi as the giver of wealth and prosperity, particularly when wealth is desired with an auspicious intention.
