Shishila

Shishila is a small hamlet in Dakshina Kannada District of Karnataka. It is about 68 km east of Belthangady. This village is famous for its ancient temple dedicated to Shishileshvara, which stands on an island in the Shishila - hole.

Shishila was the seat of Humcha ruling family later on it became the seat of Bhairarasu Wodeyar family of Karkala.

Dharmasthala is a holy place worth visiting.
