Shell Craft is a popular functional craft in
Andaman and Nicobar islands. A large number of workers are engaged in shell craft using sea shells, corals, and shells of tortoise as raw materials. Cleaned and polished decorative shells with beautiful shades are used to make small boxes, table lamps, ashtrays, ornaments and buttons. Small scale units of shell crafts functioning in the islands are a good source of income for the shell workers.
