Shekaripuram

Shekaripuram was the first Iyer settlement within the municipal limit of Palakkad. Folklore has it that this village was named after Raja Sekhara Varma of Palakkad as a token of gratitude.

Shri Lakshmi Narayana Swamy Temple, Emoon Bhagavati Temple, Ganapathy Temple, Shiva Temple and Shri Ayyappa Temple are the main shrines of Shekaripuram. The chariot festival celebrated during the Chitra Pournami is witnessed by hundreds of devotees.

Sekharipuram is about 5 km from Palakkad town.
