Shankarunatheswarar-Sangu Nayakar Temple




Shankarunatheswarar-Sangu Nayakar Temple is situated in Tirutalaichankaadu near Poompuhar. This holy place is situated 2 km south-west of Tiruvalampuram (Perumpallam) on the Sirkazhi-Poompuhar route. The temple covers an area of two acres and is built at an elevation. The presiding deity is Lord Shiva known by the name Sangu Nayakar. There is a separate shrine for Goddess Soundara Nayaki. The temple teertham is Kaveri. The chief festival of the temple is Chithra Pournami.
