Shahi Jatra Dance




Shahi Jatra Dance is a renowned dance form of Orissa. It is a major attraction during the festive season of Shahi Jatra, the festival held in the month of March-April for a week. This dance form presents different episode from the Ramayana.

During the festival, the performers walk in the street with stylized gait and mime with accompaniment of loud drumming. The dancers wear huge wooden masks and gorgeous costumes.
