Sewa River

Sewa River, a tributary of the Ravi River, originates from the rises of Kali Kund in the slip of the Himalayan ranges. It flows through a total lengthy of 125 km in Kathua District.

The famous Sewa Hydel Project is built across this river, near Sewa village. The river water is extensively used for drinking and irrigational purposes.

Local populace of Basholi and Bani depends on it for construction material like sand and stones, and transportation of timber from hills to plains in bulk.
