Sensitive Plant
Sensitive Plant (Mimosa pudica ) is a spread-out undershrub, a native of tropical America that grows in tropical and sub-tropical parts of India. The whole plant is crushed and the extract used against itching. A decoction of the root is used to relieve asthma, diarrhea and urinary complaints. The paste of the leaves is useful in glandular swellings. The juice of the leaves is given for sores and piles, and is applied in dressings for sinus. It is locally called Lajjalu, Lajwanti, or Chui- mui.
