Sembakkam




Sembakkam is a small settlement situated about 30 km south of Chennai in Kanchipuram District, Tamil Nadu. The town lies on the Tambaram-Velachery road. Sprawling over an area of about 10 sq km, Sembakkam is surrounded by Tambaram in the north-west, Jalladiampet in the east and Madambakkam in the south. Sembakkam Lake and Queens Land are the prime attractions here. Nearby tourist spots to visit are Pichaleeswarar Temple at Panapakkam, Vandalur Zoo, Nanganallur, Sri Rama Anjaneya Temple and Pallavaram. Accommodation facilities are available at Tambaram. Chennai International Airport is the nearest airport. Tambaram Railway Station serves the town. Sembakkam can be accessed from Tambaram by road.
