Saundarya Lahari is a popular tantric text, written in
Sanskrit by
Adi Shankaracharya, the great Indian mystic, of the 9th century. It is in praise of the Divine Mother of the Universe,
Tripurasundari.
Saundarya Lahari has great literary importance, and also is a spiritual guide for the spiritual seeker. It describes both the internal and external methods of worshipping the Goddess. Saundarya Lahari also describes the Shri Chakra, which is a diagrammatic representation of the Mother.
