Satyanarayana Vrata




Satyanarayana Vrata is an important fasting undertaken by the Hindu devotees. It is observed in the devotion towards Lord Satyanarayana, who is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Special rituals and worships are offered to the lord. A sweet preparation is prepared and distributed to the invited persons. This sweet preparation is believed to possess the blessings of the lord.

Mention of the Satyanarayana Vrata can be found in the ancient text of Skanda Purana. According to this text, the person observing the fast will get cured of all ailments and the ill effects of an evil eye. A person observing it with full devotion will get his/her wishes fulfilled.
