Sariraka Upanishad is one of the 108
Upanishads and belongs to the
Krishna Yajurveda. It is an ancient Indian scripture written 3,000 years ago in
Sanskrit.
The Upanishad defines concepts such as the body as a combination of the five elements. What is hard is earth, what is liquid is water, what is hot is fire, what moves is air, what is porous is space. The sense organs and the organs of action are listed. The three qualities Satva, Tamas, Rajas are explained.
