Sanketa Nidhi




Sanketa Nidhi is a text associated with astrology. It was written by a renowned scholar named Rama Dayalu in the year 1860. This book was written with the view of presenting the intricate details of astrology to his brother’s son. But the book however went on to serve the future astrologers. It is still a treasured book for many of the reputed astrologers of today, as can be seen by its wide publication and translations.

Sanketa Nidhi covers almost all the branches followed in Indian astrology. This book is based on the principles and guidelines placed by the scholars of ancient times. There is a great stress on the mathematical principles formulated by Aryabhata, the renowned astronomer of ancient India. The book contains nine sections, called Sanketas, where each deals with an individual aspect of the science. The overall work is composed in the form of verses.
