Sankatha Ghat

Sankatha Ghat, formerly known as Yameshvara Ghat, is named after Sankatha Devi, a self-manifested goddess.

A temple dedicated to Sankatha Devi is located high above the ghat. Also enshrined are the temples of Yameshvara and Harischandresvara, of which latter is thought have been the old cremation area.

The devotees assemble here to take sacred bath during Yama Dvitiya.
