Samaveediswarar Temple

Samaveediswarar Temple is an ancient Shiva temple located at Tirumangalam, a village in Madurai District, Tamil Nadu. The temple is dedicated to Samaveediswara (Lord Shiva). Tradition tells us that Saint Saimuni classified and interpreted Sama Veda in the precincts of this temple. This east facing temple has three prakaras and sub shrines for Lord Ganesh, Subramanya and Gajalakshmi. Jack tree is the sthala vriksha of the temple.

Away from the chaos of the city, the temple is an oasis of peace and tranquility. Madurai Airport is the nearest airport.
