Salistamba Sutra is an ancient text associated with
Buddhism. This text contains the principles related to Mahayana Buddhism, a major branch of the religion. The scripture contains the words of
Buddha. The text even highlights the formative period of Mahayana Buddhism and the early years of Buddhism.
Salistamba Sutra no longer exists in its original Sanskrit version. It is however present in its chinese and tibetian versions. Excerpts of the original text can be found in the numerous commentaries written on it.
