Rudra Pasupathi Nayanar is one of the 63
nayanars explained in the
Periya Puranam. Rudra Pasupathi Nayanar was an ardent devotee of
Lord Shiva.
Yajur Veda consists of seven Khandas and regarded as the head of the Lord. The middle Khanda of Yajur Veda is Sri Rudram that describes the Lord’s wonderful manifestations. Standing in the river and reciting Sri Rudram is a great purifier and it also helps to attain Moksha on devotee. Rudra Pasupathi Nayanar used to practice this and blessed by the Lord with Moksha.
